| | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | Palm Beach County has recently made funding available which shall be allocated to alleviate slums and blighted conditions through the demolition of vacant structures. In August, 2015, the Palm Beach County Department of Economic Sustainability (hereinafter DES) contacted the City of Riviera Beach (hereinafter City) in order to assess local needs for demolition of dilapidated and blighted properties. Shortly thereafter, the City provided an official response to DES’s aforementioned inquiry, which specifically indicated that demolition of 3225 and 3237 Avenue ‘J’ were high priority demolition items for the City. In May, 2016, DES provided to the City an Agreement for Demolition Services between Palm Beach County and the City, attached hereto as Exhibit ‘A’. DES has indicated that they intend to fund the entire cost of demolition associated with demolishing 3225 and 3237 Avenue ‘J’. |
