| | | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | Prince Rogers Nelson, better known worldwide simply as PRINCE, had a global impact on the music industry that spanned a least four decades. This legendary musician, businessman and activist, with his multiple gifts influenced generational music lovers, genres and youth all over the world. Remembering his life, music and impact will be the focus of our community celebration and tribute Friday, May 13th in the City Hall Courtyard. Prince wrote songs filled with messages reflecting his fight for social justice, political understanding, African American culture and world peace. YEP’s joint celebration will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm. This venue will also provide the City of Riviera Beach community an opportunity to become educated about YEP’s Teen Center and programs i.e. after-school, summer career internship opportunities, multi-media specialty camp, etc. provided to teens ages 11 to 19. |
