The Palm Beach County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) requested that municipalities submit a list of projects for possible funding and construction as a part of their Transportation Improvement Program. The City of Riviera Beach submitted four (4) projects for consideration with all four projects being approved by the MPO as a part of their Transportation Improvement Program.
One of the projects submitted by the City and approved by the MPO is the Congress Avenue decorative streetlight project. The project includes installation of decorative streetlights and the installation of all related items such as conduit, wiring and junction boxes from north of 45th Street to Blue Heron Boulevard. The decorative streetlights will be consistent with the decorative lights currently installed throughout the City. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be funding, designing and administering the project with input from City staff. Prior to proceeding with the project, FDOT requires that the City submit a resolution approving the project and authorizing FDOT to commence work.
Staff requests that City Council authorize FDOT to proceed with the design and subsequent construction of the Congress Avenue decorative streetlight project.
