Agreement for the Participation in the Summer Food Service Program
Staff recommends motion:  A)  City Council  to accept the Summer Food Service Agreement from the State of Florida, Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.  B) Approval for the Director of Finance and Administrative Services to set up a budget for same in the Summer Food Grant Fund (137). C) Approval for Staff to Piggyback off Palm Beach County's Service Agreement (Term Contract # 12048D) to provide meals for the  Summer Food Service Program.


Recommendation/Motion: 
Staff recommends that the City Council hereby approves the service agreement which is estimated in the amount of $37,754.36 to participate in the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service Summer Food Program to provide the cost of meals served during the operation of the Youth Summer Program.

Background/Summary: 
The Summer Food Service Program will begin Monday, June 06, 2016 and end on Friday, August 12, 2016.  This program provides an indispensable community service by providing reliable and affordable meal choices for many residents.  Additionally, the City of Riviera Beach desires to offer free nutritious meals to all participants of the Summer Camp Program and any other City resident under the age of 18.  Breakfast and lunch is provided.

The City has participated in the Summer Food Service Program for Children for twenty plus years. Meals will be served to area children and camps.
