The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has plans for intersection improvements in the City at the West Blue Heron Boulevard and Avenue S intersection to improve the turn radius for trucks and school buses at the referenced intersection. The City owns the parcel at the southwestern intersection of West Blue Heron Boulevard and Avenue S, which is known locally as the Barracuda Bay Aquatic Complex 1621 W. Blue Heron Boulevard. The FDOT has requested the City to execute and deliver a deed for a 642 square feet portion of Barracuda Bay parcel to support the proposed intersection improvements.
The referenced portion of 1621 West Blue Heron Boulevard covers a 642 square feet area, which is surplus land and is not needed for City purposes. A detailed illustration and legal description of the referenced property is attached and made a part of this Resolution as Exhibit "A".
The City and FDOT Staff agreed, as a part of the conveyance of the FDOT's parcels needed to support the Riviera Beach Heights Community Center, to request that Council convey the referenced portion of 1621 W. Blue Heron Boulevard parcel for and in consideration of the sum of $1.00.
The proposed corner clip will not impact the existing onsite sign for Barracuda Bay.
Staff is recommending approval of this Resolution.
