Background/Summary: 

The City has received a site plan application from KT 5000 LLC to develop 4.39 acres of land at 5000 North Ocean Drive to construct a 48 unit, 19 story condominium.  In order to fully develop the 4.39 acres of vacant land on the referenced site, KT 5000 LLC has requested the City abandon 32,167 square feet of the Harbor Point Drive right-of-way, +/= 0.74 acres, described herein as “Exhibit A” to enable this construction.  The proposed replat associated with this abandonment will include new utility easements to cover the existing utilities easements as needed for the new construction on the property.  A private access agreement with the Ocean's Edge development to the north will be maintained.  A beach renourishment access easement will be executed with Palm Beach County to allow for the maintenance and/or renourishment of the beach at the site.

 

On January 14, 2016, the Planning and Zoning Board voted unanimously to approve the aforementioned abandonment to the City Council and City staff recommends approval of the abandonment of the 32,167 square feet of Harbor Point Drive.
