| | | | | | | | Subject: | Police, Code Enforcement and Civil Drug Court currently rent 15,367 sq. ft. of commercial rentable space at the Port Center located at 2051 MLK BLVD. The current lease expires on December 31, 2015.
Purchasing required additional office space to accommodate staff. Human Resources also identified space limitations and required additional lease space. An area on the 3rd floor of the Port Center with 2,755 sq. ft. of rentable commercial space was identified with no additional build out costs to the City. The 2,755 sq. ft. of space would be divided between Purchasing (2,100 sq. ft.) and Human Resources *655 sq. ft.).

The renewal of the 15, 367 sq. ft. is for one (1) year with a one (1) year option to renew. The new lease space of 2,755 sq. ft. identified is for the period of one (1) year with a one (1) year option to renew.
The City will have the right to cancel the lease by providing Landlord with ninety (90) days written notice after January 31, 2017.
The City will review lease requirements one hundred eighty days prior to expiration of lease. If a determination is made to renew or make changes to square footage, negotiations will be started one hundred twenty days prior to expiration to allow best pricing for the City at the Port Center based on total sq. ft. being rented. |
