Next month marks the 32nd Anniversary of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Festivities in the City of Riviera Beach. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee has been meeting every Thursday, since September, 2015 to discuss and plan the upcoming festivities.
The committee consist of employees and community members. The committee is very excited about the activities planned for 2016 and is looking forward to participation from City Council and the community. The kick-off event is the Inter-Faith Prayer Breakfast - Tuesday, January 5, 2016; Youth Choir Competition - Friday, January 8, 2016; Community Service Day - Saturday, January 9, 2016; Senior Citizen Luncheon - Monday, January 11, 2016; Candlelight Vigil Friday - January 15, 2016; Gala Parade -Saturday, January 16, 2016; Employee Thank You Reception - Tuesday, January 19, 2016 and Awards & Musical Banquet - Saturday, January 23, 2016. In addition to recognizing: Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Youth of the Year and Grand Marshall, the committee will also recognize Employee of The Year and Customer Service of Excellence Award winner. These awards will be given out at the Awards & Musical Banquet on Saturday, January 23, 2016.
