BOARD APPOINTMENT – The Fire Pension Board is requesting City Council to confirm their appointment of former fire pension board member Fire Captain Paul Wright for the fifth member seat on the Fire Pension Board.

Recommendation/Motion: That City Council as ministerial duty, confirm appointment of the fifth member to serve on the Fire Pension Board.

Background/Summary: 

The Fire Pension Board has a fifth member seat with an unexpired vacancy due to the passing of Mr. Russ Elgin.  The Fire Pension Board appointed former pension board member Fire Captain Paul Wright at their quarterly meeting held on Monday, November 23, 2015.  The Fifth Member seat will expire on May 31, 2018.  The Fire Pension Board has appointed and is recommending City Council to confirm the appointment of Fire Captain Paul Wright as Fifth Member.  Captain Wright has submitted a resume to the pension board.  Also attached is an Advisory Board Application from Fire Captain Wright.  He has already met all the requirements for his board certification. 

 

The Fire Pension Board meets quarterly at 4:30 p.m. in the Fire Training Room located near City Hall. A copy of the duties and responsibilities and composition of the existing board members list is included with this package.  Review of the Board Members list reveals that this board member seat will expire May 31, 2018.
