Background/Summary: 

The Human Resource Department and Purchasing Division require office space to support current staffing levels. The additional lease space will provide Human Resources with office space for 2 budgeted staff positions  and also provide space to test applicants and file storage. Purchasing will acquire space to locate 6 purchasing staff members and 1 mailroom staff member in addition to a conference room to negotiate contracts and bid openings.

Staff has identified space suitable for the needs of the City on the third floor of the Port Center. Staff is seeking authorization to enter into negotiations. A final lease would be brought back to Council for approval. 

 Funding is required over three fiscal years.
